5-Year Workmanship Warranty
Learn how Oliva Construction’s workmanship warranty works, what may be covered, common exclusions, how manufacturer warranties differ, and how to submit a warranty claim for a completed project.
How Our Workmanship Warranty Works
The Oliva Construction workmanship warranty is intended to address qualifying installation-related issues tied to work performed by Oliva Construction. The signed estimate, contract, approved change orders and any written warranty documents issued for the project control the actual warranty terms.
What May Be Covered
Depending on the written project scope, qualifying workmanship concerns may include installation-related issues involving work completed by Oliva Construction.
- Qualifying roofing installation details included in the contracted scope.
- Qualifying siding, stucco, gutter, trim or exterior installation work.
- Qualifying deck installation work included in the signed project documents.
- Specified flashing, fasteners, sealants, transitions or other installation details included in the project.
Reporting a condition does not automatically mean it is covered. Oliva Construction must review the original project documents and the reported condition before determining warranty coverage.
Common Exclusions
A workmanship warranty does not automatically cover every condition that appears after construction. Common categories that may fall outside workmanship coverage include:
- Hail, wind, falling branches, debris, lightning or other storm and impact damage.
- Normal wear, aging, fading, movement or maintenance-related conditions.
- Manufacturer product defects.
- Damage caused by another contractor, homeowner modification or later alterations.
- Pre-existing or concealed conditions outside the contracted scope.
- Structural movement, settlement or framing conditions outside Oliva Construction’s contracted work.
- Work or materials not included in the signed estimate, contract or approved change order.
Manufacturer Warranty vs. Workmanship Warranty
These are two different types of protection.
Oliva Construction Workmanship Warranty
Addresses qualifying installation-related concerns tied to work performed by Oliva Construction, subject to the specific written project terms.
Manufacturer Warranty
Generally addresses qualifying defects in manufactured products such as shingles, siding, windows, decking or other materials. Manufacturer warranty terms vary by product.
Warranty Duration
Oliva Construction commonly provides a 5-year workmanship warranty on qualifying projects. The actual start date, duration, limitations and conditions for a specific project are determined by the written agreement and warranty documents for that project.
If there is any conflict between this webpage and the signed project documents, the written project documents control.
